This project consisted of the re-development of six schools in Kent including the construction of new state-of-the-art learning and teaching facilities for each school, including gymnasiums, dance studios, all weather pitches and drama studios. Special emphasis was placed on the provision of ICT, which has enabled schools such as Hugh Christie Technology College to encourage and embrace a culture of innovation and change. At both Aylesford Sports College and Holmesdale Technology College the student to computer ratio is an impressive 1-1.
These new buildings are also available for wider use by the community. All the schools’ new facilities are made available for the local people out of school hours, creating an increased sense of belonging and ownership. The project became operational in 2007 and the concession runs until 2035.
