This portion of the Edmonton Ring Road in Alberta runs 21 kilometres from Yellowhead Trail to Manning Drive. It was the single largest PPP transportation ever undertaken at the time for the Province of Alberta. The project involved the design, construction, finance, operation and maintenance of 21 kms of new four and six-lane divided highway, including eight interchanges, five flyovers, and two railways. In total, this project comprises 230 kms single-lane and 29 bridges.

The project is completely free flow and improved both travel times and safety for the public. The new construction has benefitted the more than 30,000 motorists who use this ring road daily, as well as the transportation industry as this is a vital route for shipping and receiving goods. The project became operational in 2011 and the availability payments are received from the Government of Alberta.
