South East Stoney Trail is a major highway that is part of the Calgary Ring Road network. The project became operational in 2013 and receives availability payments from the Province of Alberta.
This project includes the design, build, finance, operation, maintenance of a 25 km highway, plus additional basic and auxiliary lanes, as well as nine interchanges (including a system interchange), one road flyover, two rail flyovers, and 27 bridge structures that passes through Calgary. The project is part of the larger 70 km Stoney Trail Ring Road, a vital component of the provincial highway network which supports Alberta’s vision to provide safe, accessible, free-flowing travel in and around the region. Stoney Trail Ring Road helps improve travel times and reduce congestion for drivers by enhancing accessibility to and from the communities of southeast Calgary.
